We transformed this clinical solution into a comfortable, easy-to-use product by combining precise engineering with thoughtful design, creating a non-invasive treatment that's both highly functional and visually refined. We focused on delivering a product that was not just functionally precise but also visually appealing and intuitive to use. The basic decision for design was to minimize intra-oral material bulk while optimizing how smoothly and precisely the jaw advancement works.  

Understanding User-Centric Needs  

We adopted a patient-first approach, prioritizing ergonomic design to enhance compliance. This included 3D modeling and virtual testing to predict and resolve areas of potential soft tissue irritation.  

Non-Invasive Sleep Apnea Solution 

Our device is a non-invasive substitute for CPAP therapy that can successfully lessen snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea, enhancing your quality of sleep. It does this by providing a high-quality, custom-fit oral product.

Designing Peaceful Comfort

Conceptualization opened the door to carefully research and ideate solutions to understand the core problems of snoring and airway blockage. The team developed a large number of sketches and initial concepts, analysing different mandibular placements, their processes, and ergonomic shapes that would improve comfort and efficacy.

For modem CAD modelling, initial concepts were developed into precise 3D models. Features were carefully designed for potential manufacturability, intuitive user- experience and easy assembly. Multiple iterations were done ensuring fit, tolerances and interface between components. This phase ensured engineering accuracy and readiness for scalable production.

Living hinge optimization

Simplified Form Stronger Function

The updated living hinge features a slimmer, more balanced geometry that bends smoothly without stressing the material. By reducing excess thickness and creating a cleaner, tapered profile, the hinge gains better flexibility, longer life, and more consistent performance. This refined design is also easier to mold, supporting faster and more cost-efficient manufacturing.

The final geometry was optimized through multiple iterations to achieve a compact, comfortable, and universally fitting form. Detailed dimensional refinement ensured that the device maintains a natural curvature around the jaw while minimizing bulk for improved overnight wearability. Each measurement was calibrated for ergonomic balance—offering the right combination of thickness, flexibility, and structural stability.

Every decision regarding engineering, streamlining part geometry, and making the assembly process easier were guided by DFM principles. This strategy led to a faster turnaround, cost efficiency and consistent build quality, motivating reliable and large-scale production without compromising performance.

Precision Fit & Adjustment

Adjust Your Way Perfectly

The device features a multi-slot adjustment system that allows users to set the lower jaw in three precise positions. Each slot increases the forward advancement incrementally, giving users full control over both comfort and snoring reduction. This structured adjustment method makes it easy to find the ideal balance between effective airway opening and natural overnight comfort. By simply selecting the preferred slot, users can fine-tune their fit with accuracy, ensuring consistent performance and a more restful sleep experience.
