Our aim was not just to design furniture, but to shape moments outdoors. Maanta is a contemporary Italian brand that brings a fresh vision to outdoor living. Their collection of premium furniture and shade solutions is designed with real world in mind: weather-resistant materials that stand the test of time, clean aesthetics that complement any setting, and versatile pieces that adapt to the quality of your lifestyle.
Designing five fundamentally different typologies, ottomans, lounge seating, and floating pieces required a unified visual language. Each product needed to feel distinct in function yet immediately recognizable as part of one family. Achieving this balance without forcing uniformity was a core challenge.
A generous, premium-feeling fill was essential for comfort and perceived quality. At the same time, the designs demanded fewer seams and uninterrupted surfaces. Reconciling thick volume with minimal visual noise became a key design tension throughout the project.
The concepts needed to move beyond visual appeal and clearly communicate how they could be produced. Soft, organic forms had to be defined precisely, achieving clarity through views, dimensions, and material logic was critical to reduce ambiguity and risk.
We wanted to begin our design journey with an exploration of shapes that organically invite comfort, where one does not have to worry about any other thing. Afterconcept created bean bag shapes that combine structural comfort and visual lightness by researching ergonomics, body posture, and usage scenarios. This ensures that every curve supports the body and the beautiful design.
We shaped rounded forms guided by reference analysis and real constraints.Geometry, seams, and proportions were carefully controlled across all pieces. Forms were refined through iterative 3D exploration for family coherence. Material transitions were resolved cleanly through a recessed base.
We brought Maanta’s design idea to life through high-fidelity 3D visualization. Each render captured realistic textures, lighting, and form nuances, helping communicate the intended atmosphere of relaxed sophistication and modern outdoor living.

The Circular Ottoman is defined by its clean, uninterrupted silhouette. The perfectly rounded plan and gently domed profile create a versatile piece that works equally as casual seating, a footrest, or an informal side element.
The design emphasizes visual calm through reduced seam lines and a generous fill that maintains its shape over time. A recessed textilene mesh base provides durability and airflow while remaining hidden from normal viewing angles, preserving a refined, fabric-forward appearance.
The Square Ottoman introduces a more architectural footprint while retaining the collection’s signature softness. Its square plan offers visual structure, softened by rounded edges and subtle curvature that prevent the form from feeling rigid or boxy.
Designed to complement both modular seating and standalone use, the Square Ottoman mirrors the Circular version’s construction logic thick filling for presence, minimal surface interruption, and a reinforced bottom layer engineered for outdoor conditions.
Triangulo brings a dynamic geometry to the collection, breaking away from conventional bean bag forms. Its asymmetric triangular plan encourages relaxed, full-body lounging while creating a visually striking presence in outdoor settings.
The design combines a substantial, premium-feeling fill with clean surfaces and controlled seam placement. The extended length allows multiple lounging postures, while the rounded edges ensure comfort from every angle.
Poltroncina translates the idea of a lounge chair into a soft, sculptural bean bag form. Enveloping proportions and gently raised sides provide a sense of support and definition, distinguishing it from more casual, collapsible seating.
Poltroncina prioritizes fewer, larger fabric panels to achieve a clean, premium look. The result is a bean bag that feels intentional and furniture-like-designed to sit confidently alongside Maanta’s teak collections.
The Floating bean bag extends the collection into dual-use environments—equally suited for poolside relaxation and in-water lounging. Its elongated proportions and low seat height create a laid-back, horizontal posture that contrasts with the more upright seating pieces.
The form is engineered to visually communicate buoyancy and stability, with a reinforced lower surface that supports outdoor and water-based use. Rounded volumes and minimal seams maintain consistency with the rest of the range, ensuring the Floating piece feels like a natural extension rather than a novelty add-on.
Our visualization process involves comprehensive 3D modeling and photorealistic rendering to perfectly showcase the final design concept and user experience.
